Otumfuo commends Okyeame Kwame for Hepatitis B campaign

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has commended multiple award-winning hiplife artiste Okyeame Kwame for his tremendous effort towards the fight against Hepatitis B over the past 8 years.
The King of Ashanti encouraged the 41-year old versatile musician and philanthropist to continue with his humanitarian project to help save more lives and put smiles on the faces of beneficiaries and their families.
The Asantehene made these remarks when Okyeame Kwame born Kwame Nsiah-Appau and his management paid a visit to him at the Manhyia Palace.
The visit was to get Asantehene’s support on the Hepatitis B campaign and also show to Otumfuo the honour bestowed on him (Okyeame Kwame) by the USA government as acknowledgement to his humanitarian works.
The mayor of Cincinnati in the United Stated in November 2016 honoured the Ghanaian rapper with the “Key to the City” for his unprecedented efforts in fighting Hepatitis B.

This comes with a responsibility on Okyeame Kwame to establish a sister relations between his city (Kumasi) and the city of Cincinnati as a Cultural Ambassador.

The versatile musician unveiled the content of the citation and the ‘Key’ given to him by the mayor of Cincinnati to the Asantehene to seek for his blessings and help as the relationship is created towards Kumasi and Cincinnati.
The OK Foundation with the support of MDS-Lancet laboratories has for the past years given free hepatitis B screening, education, and vaccination for about 8,000 people across Ghana and intends to extend the humanitarian cause to other African countries by next year.
