Employ my children as compensation – Mother of killed Miner

The family of the 31-year old miner Kwame Agyemang shot dead by anti-Galamsey taskforce, Operation Vanguard at Obuasi- Wawase want siblings of the deceased employed by government as compensation


"I want my two children who are graduates from Junior High School be employed by the government" deceased mother, Madam Afia Antwiwaah appealed.


Young energetic illegal miner, Kwame Agyemang was shot dead instantly when caught engaging in illegal mining despite band on illegal mining activities by President Akufo-Addo.


"My son was my bread winner but now he is no more alive and  I can also not work to fend for myself because I have waist pain", she revealed.


"The government should consider my problem and employ my two children to enable them take care of me and themselves", she said.


Asked what she wants the  government to do to improve her current living condition apart from employment for her childern, Madam Afia Antwiwaah wished the state absorbed funeral expenses of Kwame Agyemang.


"I am not selling my son but if the government could take his funeral expenses and give me any amount of money to also start a business, I will be most grateful to President Akufo-Addo", he stated.
