NPP Conference to smoothen party operations – FF Anto

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) says it’s  2017 National Delegates Conference will afford opportunity to review its activities and put in place appropriate systems and measures for its smooth operation.
“It will also take decisions regarding some proposed constitutional amendments and replace all of its national executives who have been appointed to serve in government”, first National Vice chair, F.F. Anto said.
Earlier, addressing the media at the party head office, the Acting General Secretary, John Boadu, explained that a directive has  been sent to all levels of the party structure to conform to all constitutional requirements ahead of the event.
“The party in a memo dated June 1st 2017 directed all regional executive committees to organise their respective annual delegates’ conference not later than July 26 2017”.
The regional delegates conference shall be attended by all constituency chairpersons, members of parliaments, regional and deputy ministers and representatives from the National Executives among others, according to the party’s General Secretary.
He also reiterated the importance of these regional conferences citing some constitutional basis for this.
He disabused the notion that elections of party executives will take place during the conferences.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the party wishes to state emphatically that these delegate conferences will not include the election or re-election of party executives to occupy the various positions at the constituencies, regional and national levels because the mandate of the current executives are yet to expire”, the party warned.
He said the party will release a calendar of conferences at the appropriate time where elections for party executives will be held.
