Former Chief Justice Georgina Wood appointed visiting fellow of Oxford University

Former Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Wood has been appointed by the African Initiative for Governance, as the 2017/2018 visiting fellow at the University Of Oxford School Of Governance.

The AIG fellowship is awarded each year to an individual from West Africa who has demonstrated evidence of outstanding contribution to the public good through exemplary leadership in public service.

Dean of the University Of Oxford School Of Governance, Professor Ngaire Woods said Mrs Wood has made an outstanding contribution in Ghana and the University looks forward to learning from her during her fellowship at the school.

Justice Wood is expected to further develop her understanding of specific policy issues to reflect practices in other countries with the view to returning to Ghana and helping to build competency and leadership capacity within the public sector, promoting the virtues of good public service and making the public sector attractive.
