Highlife legend Awurama Badu has died, otecfmghana.com has learnt.
She is reported to have passed Thursday night at a hospital in Kumasi, where she lived.
She was last seen at the 2nd Annual General Meeting of the Ghana Music Right Organization held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in August this year.
Awurama was popular for her hit songs Such as Komkom, Medofo adaada me, Obaatan Refre Ne Mma and Emelia.
The musician died while on admission at the Effiduase Government Hospital in the Sekyere East District of the Ashanti Region.
Speaking to OTEC FM, Mr Kofi Attakora a member of the family who confirmed the sad news said, the 83-year-old, one of the country’s prolific musicians, had been ill for some time now and it is unclear what sickness she had been battling.
