George Weah to run for president again
Former world football player of the year George Weah will lead a coalition of three political parties in his second attempt to became the president of Liberia in the 10 October election.
Mr Weah has chosen Jewel Taylor, the ex-wife of former President Charles Taylor who is serving a 50-year sentence in a UK prison for crimes against humanity charges.
Mr Weah lost to the current President Johnson Sirleaf in 2005 and in 2011 when he was the running mate of opposition leader Winston Tubman.
He’s currently a senator of the northwestern region of Montserrado.
