GFA to name Black Stars coach in April
The six-man search committee of the Ghana Football Association is expected to present the names of five shortlisted coaches for the the Black Stars coach job by the close of today from which a substantive will be unveiled in April.
According sources within the search committee, five coaches have been shortlisted for the vacant job but the preferred choice will be picked in April since the interim coach, Maxwell Konadu will end the month before a substantive coach is named.
In all, over 70 coaches applied with just four of them being four Ghanaian coaches; former Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah, AshGold coach Bashir Hayford, Afcon winner and former Kotoko coach Abdul Karim Razak and former national player Kuuku Dadzie making the list.
Meanwhile an impeccable source to the 6-man committee has revealed that names like Ibrahim Tanko, David Duncan, J.E. Sarpong, Marcel Desailly and Otto Addo were all missing from the list of applicants despite earlier reports that they were interested in the job.
The Black Stars management committee is expected to announce the shortlist of coaches for interview by March 28.
