“Don’t Start Free SHS Now”- Kuffour
Former Minister of State under erstwhile Kuffour admistration, Dr. Kwame Addo-Kuffour has kicked against the implementation of free education policy starting this year.
“I cannot understand why government should finance any student at Senior High School (SHS)”, he quizzed on Accra-based radio station.
“Government should think of quality first in any educational policy. It is sketchy to understand one paying fees from all levels but parents say we cannot finance their secondary education”.
According to him, the economy is fragile therefore not prudent for government to start the free education policy this year.
“I am for free education but I wish it should be implemented from next year going”, the former Member of Parliament for Manyhia suggested in an interview.
“I believe starting next year will bring quality education”, the former Defense Minister said day after the government rolled out details of the implementation.
