Manhyia Police Arrest Two after Stabbing Driver
Police are investigating two suspects including a twenty-three year old physically challenged person for robbing a taxi cab driver at a gun point.
Akwasi Francis 22, together with his physically challenged friend Robert Antwi alias Azonto 23 on the Sunday July, 2017 attempted rob their victim of Toyota Corolla cab with registration number BA 2910-14.
According to police, the suspects hired the services of the taxi driver from Afful Nkwanta to Children’s Park in the Kumasi metropolis on the said date with criminal intent to snatch the vehicle from the driver.
One reaching Children’s Park, Kwasi Francis seated in the front passenger seat pulled out locally manufactured pistol at the driver instructing him to get down from the cab.
The other suspect also pulled a knife stabbed the driver several times from back after he [driver] resisted to hand them key to the vehicle.
Screams by the driver drew attention from the public where bystanders rush to the scene to aide arrest of the suspects to the Manhyia Divisional Police Command while the driver was rushed to KNUST Hospital for treatment.
The Police Command at a press conference told select journalists police are still investigating matters as the suspects’ victim recieves treatment.
