I am not the Minister of Road and Transport – Ash. reg. Minister
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah appears to have not acquinted himself with challanges confronting the people in the region as representative of the President.
The minister on Tuesday 1st August lost his cool attempting to answer some questions from the host of Kumasi-based Ultimate FM’s morning show pertaining to the deteriorating road networks in the region.
“I will never pretend to be an all knowing regional Minister and I will never do that”, the minister fumed when asked to give details of government’s plans to fix roads in the region that have now become death traps.
The minister claims plans are underway to fix the road network within the Kumasi Metropolis and it’s outskirts.
When asked to give details as to when commencement and completion of the construction of the roads would be done, he seemed to have no idea about it.
“Definitely I can never give you any timeline because I am not the Minister of Road and Transport”
He revealed that, “Bekwai-Anwiankwanta, Sofoline -Abuakwa, Bantema-Abrepo, Airport Roundabout to Buokrom and among others” are all part of the roads to be constructed.
