Military could be ”resentful” – Amoako Baah

Personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces are aggrieved over the lynching of their colleague, Captain  Maxwell Mahama hence, the shooting of one suspected illegal miner to death at Wawase in Obuasi to register their displeasure
“I suspect because the way Captain Mahama was killed some of these Military personnel have in mind that they are not going to be victims again”
“They want to instill fear in the residents that their lives are important than the gold the people get”, the political science lecturer allege on a Kumasi based radio station.
The lecturer with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) admonished the people to quit their illegal businesses.
“Your lives are more important than the little gold you get so please heed to the government directive and quit”
“Off course I know you have to earn a living but before this galamsey came , I am sure you were doing something else for a living”, Dr. Richard Amoako Baah stated suggesting solution to end illegal mining canker in the country.
“I grew up in this country, galamsey was around when I was young. …all of sudden, the influx of the Chinese has worsen it and destroyed our environment with their heavy equipment”, he pointed out.
“I am saying this again the amount of money you get should not cost you your life. …the government has no choice than to do the things he is doing now. ….so stop this illegal business”, he advised.
