One more person has been arrested at Elubo in the Western Region in connection with the gruesome murder major Maxwell Adams Mahama at Denkyira-Obuasi.
Emmanuel Baiden, a brick layer from the Central Regional town, was arraigned on charges of conspiracy and murder before the Accra Central District Court Friday.
His plea has been deferred by court presided over by Walanyo Kotoku, and the case adjourned to September 25.
That was after police prosecutors, led by DSP George Amegah, told the court that investigations were still ongoing in the case and need more time.
Baiden’s arrest brings to 20 the total number of suspects currently being held for the murder of the military officer on May 29, 2017.
Major Mahama [rtd] of the 5th Infantry of the Ghana Armed Forces was jogging at Denkyira-Obuasi at about 8:30am when he was lynched.
He was the detachment commander of troops on operational duties in the general area.
Meanwhile, the Police say some 12 more suspects are still being looked for in the case.
