Parts of Ashanti Region to experience interruption in water supply – GWCL

The Ashanti Regional Office of the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has announced a shutdown of its Owabi Water Treatment Plant, disrupting supply of portable water supply to over 30 communities.

A release from GWCL, signed by the Ashanti Regional Public Relations, Ebenezer Pardi Narh, and copied to OTEC News Desk on Monday June 19,2023 indicated that, the plants have been shut down due to technical difficulties.

“Management of the Ghana Water Company Limited, Ashanti Production Region, wished to inform its cherished customers within the Abuakwa District that, the Owabi Treatment Plant is currently shut down due to the technical challenges that occurred in the morning of Sunday, 18th June 2023”

“Engineers of GWCL are working assiduously to resolve the challenge and resume operations to serve its cherished customers with potable drinking water”

“Areas to be affected include, Asuoyeboah, Tanoso, Apatrapa, Pokukrom, Bokankye, Nyankyerenease, Esaase, Akropong, Ntensere, Mfensi, Afari, Wioso, Abuakwa and its environs “. The release said.

Meanwhile Mr Pari Narh in an interview with OTEC News Jacob Agyenim Boateng said the company will work continuously on the challenge until it is resolved.

He urged their customers to bear with them as they work around the clock to resolve the problem.
