NDC is never against Free SHS – Kofi Adams

National Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Kofi Adams has said that no member of the party has ever kicked against the provision of free Education for Ghanaians.

According to him, tagging the NDC as against Free Senior High School Education is part of attempts by the ruling NPP and some Ghanaians to make the NDC unpopular.

Mr Kofi Adams however reiterated his assertion that people who speak against the free Senior high School education policy are witches with no class.

”The position of the NDC all the way through the 2016 elections was for the policy to be made progressive so that it would not be discriminatory,” he said on an Accra based radio station.

He explained that the progressively free education policy which existed, ensured that all day students in the country paid no fees whiles about 120,000 boarders also had scholarships and in totality catered for about 500,000 students.

”The NPP government after criticising the progressively free education and demanding that all SHS students benefit from their free SHS policy were able to cater for only 420,000 students which is less, compared to the progressively free”, he noted.

He claims the number of students who benefitted from the progressively free education which existed and that of the Mahama administration were higher than those benefitting from President Akufo-Addo’s Free SHS policy now.
