Businesses came to a halt when his convoy drove through the streets to the Manhyia Palace.
The various groups in the Asante Kingdom, including Asante Youth Association, Kumasi Youth Association and Asante Students Union, were all there to welcome him.
There was dancing to traditional songs and other cultural displays to mark the arrival of the Asantehene.
The Asantehene was allegedly linked to a money laundering scandal, but those who made the allegation later apologised.
