The Tamale Sports Stadium has been selected as the venue for the final of the 2017 MTN FA Cup between fierce rivals Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.
The game has been dubbed ‘Unmissable’ by organisers. It is scheduled to be played on Sunday, October 29. Hearts made it to the final of the biggest domestic club competition after beating Wa All Stars 2-1 in the semi-final.
Kotoko also beat Medeama 1-0 in a controversial game at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.
But the two most decorated clubs of Ghana football will rekindle their rivalry as they contest for the sole ticket for the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup – which the winner qualifies to – especially given the little chances they both have in annexing the league title.
The last time the two sides met in the final of the FA Cup was in 1990. The Porcupine Warriors triumphed over the Phobians.
