Over one thousand teachers posted to Eastern Region- Education Director

About one thousand 428 professionally trained and certificated teachers from the various Colleges of Education in the country were posted to Eastern Region for onward distribution to the districts and municipalities in the region.

One thousand 108 out of the number were teachers sponsored by the District and Municipal Assemblies for their Post-Secondary courses while only 320 were non-sponsored.

This was made known by the Eastern Regional Director of Education, Gertrude Mensah,in an exclusive interview with newsmen in Koforidua.

She said the Educational Directorates in the region are in the process of recruitment and postings for the newly trained teachers to report at their stations by December 1st this year.

Madam Mensah emphasized that the postings will cater for only those who completed the three–year Diploma in Basic Education at the Colleges of Education successfully.

She explained that those who could not sail through in their examinations have to rewrite and pass before recruited into the teaching profession.

Madam Mensah advised the fresh teachers to work fast on the Integrated Personal Payroll Data(IPPD) in order to receive their monthly salaries effective December to avoid financial constraints gone through after completion of the College of Education.

She asked the newly posted teachers to go out and deliver effectively at their stations with new ideas from their different institutions to help improve the the falling standard of education in Ghana.
