We will eradicate bribery and Betting from Ghana Premiere League-George Amoako
The Vice Chairman of Premiere League Board (PLB), Mr George Amoako, says his outfit will task Tiger Eye Investigation team led by Anas Aremeyaw-Anas to investigate bribing issues in the 2017-2018 Season in order to maintain the integrity of the Ghana Premiere League.
Mr Amoako who was Former for CEO for the Kumasi based Club King Faisal added that, anybody who have any information of bribery or knows any official involving in Betting in the league should inform the appropriate quarters for immediate actions.
Mr. Amoako made this revelation at a grand durbar at Dormaa ahead of coronation match between the 2016-2017 league champions Aduana Stars and Brekum Chelsea will be played for the league trophy to be delivered to the Osabirimah Agyemang Badu Boys on Sunday 5th November, 2017.
There have been claims by those directly involved in the league that some games are undermined by a rampant culture of referee inducement.
“Clubs induce referees in the Ghana Premier League and we all know it,”Tema Youth coach Edward Nii Odoom, who has been vocal about the matter in the media, told newsmen fortnight ago.
“I am not afraid to say it because it is so disheartening to put in so much work on the training grounds and then discover that on match-day, a referee has made up his mind to just determine the outcome of the game.”
But Mr. Amoako said, “If even the PLB have to task ANASand hi Tiger Eye PI, BNI and any other appropriate bodies to investigate bribery issues in the Ghana Premier league (G.P.L), we will do to enable us eradicate bribery and Betting from our football”.
