Hearts of Oak signs Christopher Bonney for 3 years

Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting have signed defender Christopher Bonney in a three-year deal after impressing head coach Frank Elliott Nuttall during his trial, the club have confirmed on Monday January 29, 2018.

The 19-year-old arrived in Accra from Ebusua Dwarfs Football Club as a free agent after opting not to extend his stay in Cape Coast despite being promised a lucrative offer.

Bonney has officially become the first major signing of Hearts of Oak as they prepare to end their nine-year run without a trophy.

“I’m excited of course, it’s always a happy moment to join Hearts,” Bonney said.

“I’ll do my best to command first team place and help the club in the upcoming season. I thank everyone who made this dream a reality and promise not to disappoint them,” he added.

Bonney previously had stint with Hearts’ fierce rivals Asante Kotoko but he felled down the pecking order because of the presence of skipper Amos Frimpong.

In other development, the club has also extended the contract of their right full back defender, Fatao Mohammed, to stay in the club till 2020, after it expired in 2018.
