The Gyasehene of Seikwa in the Tain district of the Brong Ahafo Region, Nana Kwadwo Tano, was on Thursday, 8 February 2018, shot dead by unknown assailants.
The regional police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Inspector Kingsley Augustine Oppong, confirmed the incident to Accra News.
Narrating the incident to Chief Jerry Forson on Ghana Yensom on Accra100.5FM on Friday, 9 February 2018, Mr Oppong said the Gyasehene was in his home watching television with two relatives on Thursday night when he received a phone call.
He got shot after the phone call when he had entered his room to resume watching television.
One of the relatives watching the television with him got injured while the other escaped unhurt.
Police have begun investigations into the incidence.
it will be recalled that the Paramount Chief of Seikwa, Nana Gyimah Ankoana, was also assassinated about four years ago.
Nana Ankoana was shot around 8pm on Monday November 4, 2013 while he relaxed at home.
He was hit in the chest and died while being taken to the hospital.
