Ashanti police seek public confidence to deliver  

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has intensified their onslaught on criminals in the region to ensure the citizenry could go about their normal duties without fear. 

The command is therefore calling on the public to have confidence in the police service as well as provide timely information for prompt action.

The Regional Police Commander, COP Ken Yeboah, made this known during an identification parade of five suspected criminals were paraded at the Ashanti Regional Police Headquarters in Kumasi. One of the suspects, Yaw Nambu Dosu,48, alias Joe was arrested for producing foreign alcoholic drinks at Ejisu for the past ten years.

He was arrested  based on a complaint lodged by the International Federal of Spirit Producers. The Police retrieved 48 boxes of the alcoholic drinks such as Black Label, Red Label, Bacardi, Lion Aromatic Schnapps among others.

He named his accomplice as one Kwofie based at Nungua in Accra.

He further disclosed the composition of the drinks as Ethanol, Water and colour. Suspects, Isaac Opoku 22, Isaac Kwakye 25, and Nana Akwasi 28, were busted for “pick and rob”. The three men essentially picked up their victims in their taxi, robbed them and forcefully throw them out.

The last suspect, Akwasi Afrifa, 20, a notorious armed robber was arrested for terrorizing Abuakwa citizens in Kumasi after spree of robbery activities.
