Ashanti Regional NPP chairmanship race: Sekyere Afram Plains DCE endorses Wontumi

The District Chief Executive for Sekyere Afram Plains in the Ashanti Region Hon. Joseph Owusu, aka Odenkyem has declared his support for the second term bid of Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the incumbent chairman of the party in the region.
Odenkyem who is also the chairman for all DCE’s in Ashanti region in an exclusive interview otecfmghana.com indicated that, his decision was motivated by the leadership skills, sacrifices and commitment of Chairman Wontumi to the fortunes of the party at a time it seemed impossible for the NPP to wrestle power from the NDC in the lead up to the general elections in 2016.
speaking to party executives from Sekyere Afram plains, Effiduase, Ejisu and Juaben to officially declare his intention to seek for re-election, The Ashanti regional chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako admonished the gathering of new party officers and prospective delegates to remember where the party had come from before winning political power and make informed choices at the upcoming Regional and National Executives election.
He said he was the surest bet for the party to in the Ashanti region if it intends to hold onto power beyond the year 2020.
According to him, winning every parliamentary seat in the region is part of his main agenda before he exits office.
Out of the 47 seats in the region, the NPP won 44 while the National Democratic Congress (NDC) won three at the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections.
Chairman Wontumi assured that he would ensure a 100 per cent win for the party. “I will make sure I win every seat in the Ashanti Region for our great party,” he assured.
