Local Gov’t Ministry to Create Offices to Promote 1D1F

The local government ministry is set to establish a new office to ensure the well being and progress of the one district, one factory policy by the Nana Addo led NPP government.

This was revealed by the deputy local government minister Hon Augustine Collins Ntim who is also the member of Parliament for Offinso North constituency in the Ashanti region.

He was speaking in an interview with Otec News ahead of the Association of Ghana Industries annual general meeting which he was invited as the guest speaker and stated that the yet to be created District Center for Agriculture commerce and Technology (DCACT) office will see to the day to day activities and management of the new policy.

He explained even though the one district, one factory policy is yet to commence, various industries have shown keen interest and are embracing the policy with happiness hence a need to establish such offices which will monitor and ensure that necessary gadgets and support needed to make the policy a successful one.

He added that DCACT will serve as a mediator between individuals or cooperate institutions and the various District Assemblies.

He says because factories will be established at various Districts, DCACT will ensure the issuing of permits and land acquisition to developers who are willing to support the policy to ease stress is acquiring them.
