Let me come back to correct my wrongs – Mahama pleads with NDC delegates

Former President John Dramani Mahama has virtually admitted to getting it wrong as President and is, therefore, asking NDC delegates to give him another opportunity to rectify the ills which were incidental to his reign.

Speaking to party supporters who thronged his official residence after he officially notified the party of his intention to lead the party into the next elections, the former President used the occasion to appeal to the delegates in the yet-to-be-held presidential primaries to give him a second chance to right the wrongs he committed while serving as president.

“It would be the height of dishonesty on my part to say that I did everything right as president. In fact, there were lots of wrongs I committed, with the benefit of hindsight, but the good thing is that there is always an opportunity to correct the wrongs” the former President said.

Continuing, ex-president Mahama also had this to say; “I am appealing to you to forget about the past wrongs so that we can forge ahead in unison as we seek to wrestle power from Akufo-Addo. Remember that to err is human” former President Mahama said apologetically.

Though he has denied on several occasions having done wrong as President which culminated in the party losing to the NPP in the last elections, former President Mahama has, by this statement,  admitted to having wronged Ghanaians and is seeking to be forgiven.

The NDC goes to the polls on December 7 2018 in a battle that is seeing about ten personalities contesting to lead the party into the next elections. All the aspirants have since written officially to the party’s leadership indicating their readiness to lead the party in elections 2020.
