Police stop jobless nurses, midwives from picketing Jubilee House

The police, on Monday, 29 October 2018, halted a planned procession by aggrieved unposted nurses and midwives to the presidency to picket.

The group, numbering about 150, comprised the Coalition of Concerned Bonded Nurses and Midwives; and Allied Health Professionals.

The health workers converged on the Obra Spot near the Nkrumah Circle, from where they were to proceed to the seat of government, the Jubilee House, to picket and petition President Nana Akufo-Addo on the need to grant them financial clearance for their immediate employment.

The health workers say they have been unemployed for the past two years despite completing their mandatory national service.
