NDC 2016  defeat: Don’t blame party executives – NDC MP

Member of Parliament for the Banda constituency in the Brong Ahafo Region Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim has fingered Ministers and appointees of the erstwhile John Mahama administration as the cause of their 2016 general election defeat.

According to the deputy minority chief whip, most resources which was meant for the party to enhance their campaign were allocated to regional Ministers and appointees whom also failed to deliver them to party members in the grassroots.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Agya Wusu Ansah at the NDC’s 9th delegates Congress at the fantasy Dome at the Trade fair centre in Accra, Hon. Ahmed expressed worry about the way and manner some party executives were being accused of causing the party’s defeat.

How can you blame an executive who was not assigned to any resources for campaign for causing our defeat ” he quizzed?

He explains that various regional Ministers and appointees were appointed as campaign coordinators for their respective regions and areas and therefore are to be blamed.

He again blamed the party delegates for voting against executives who won power for the party in 2008 and 2016.
