The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) with the assistance of the Ashanti Regional Police has effected the arrest of gospel artiste, Brother Sammy, following claims of a product that cures HIV/AIDS.

A statement issued Saturday and signed by the Chief Executive Officer of the FDA, Delese Darko, said Brother Sammy in a series of videos circulating on social media also claimed that the said product could also cure other chronic diseases.

Bro Sammy was arrested to “assist in investigations over claims of a product that cures HIV/AIDS and other chronic diseases, which has not been approved by the FDA”.

The FDA was emphatic that it has “not registered any product for the cure of HIV/AIDS neither has any approval been given to the said artiste for the production and sale of any FDA regulated product”.

The general public has, therefore, being advised to desist from patronising such products from the artiste.

The Authority further urged the public to avoid purchase and consumption of products that have not been approved.
