Photos: Bloody clashes mar Shatta Movement fan club launch

An event organised by Mr Charles Nii Akramah Mensah, the father of dancehall artiste Shatta Wale at Ngleshie Amanfrom in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region to launch a Shatta Movement fan club on Saturday, 15 June 2019, turned bloody when a chieftaincy faction backing Nii Kwashie Gborlor IV, the chief of the area, clashed with supporters of Shatta Wale’s father, who also holds himself as a chief of the area.

Nii Kwashie Gborlor IV’s faction attacked Shatta Wale’s father’s faction during the event for holding himself out as a chief.

The intervention of the police saved the day.

The law officers dispersed the crowd to restore peace.

Nii Kwashie Gborlor IV told the media later that his side has informed the police and the office of National Security about Shatta Wale’s father’s conduct and vowed to resist every attempt of his to hold himself out as a custodian of the area.
