Penalized Asante Kotoko defies the odds; Beats Dwarfs at Baba Yara

Kumasi Asante Kotoko, this afternoon at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium beat Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs by two goals to nothing.

The team which was handed a five match empty stadium ban defied all the odds to beat the visitors.

Though the team missed a penalty and failed to convert two clear chances in the first half, that was not to perturb them.

Coach Maxwell Konadu made two tactical changes which saw 16 year old Matthew Anim Cudjoe brought into the game.

The nimble-footed Cudjoe  showed how skillful and talented he is as he dribbled some defenders of Dwarfs to the delight of few who were at the stadium.

No sooner had Cudjoe called attention to himself than he tapped in a brilliant ball into the net, giving the Fabulous lads the first goal.

Cudjoe’s goal energised the team as the second goal came a few minutes after Cudjoe’s classic goal.

Accra Hearts of Oak, as expected, ‘beat’ Liberty Professionals by two goals to one.

This sets the tone for Ghana’s El classico between Hearts and Kotoko in Accra {Hearts is playing hosting Kotoko so Hearts must come first}

Hearts of Oak has not beaten Kotoko in a long while. Kotoko has been beating their bitterest rivals in and outside Accra.

Kotoko was not ruffled by the harsh punishment the GFA handed to it and has gone ahead to beat Dwarfs.
