Juabeng NPP primaries: Allow everyone to contest or we boycott Dec polls – Delegates
Some aggrieved delegates of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) at Juaben constituency in the Ashanti region have threatened to boycott the December general elections if the member of parliament for the area is allowed to contest unopposed.
The delegates said the executives of the party have prevented prospective aspirants from picking forms to contest the incumbent MP, Ama Pomah, in the upcoming primaries.
Numbering over 200, the delegates besieged the party office at Juaben on Tuesday, 4 February 2020 and called for an open contest in the parliamentary primaries.
With red scarves around their necks, the angry group said they will boycott the elections if the primaries are not free and fair to all potential aspirants.
