Sack our Headmaster – Aduman SHS Staff to GES

Teachers of Aduman Senior High School (SHS) in the Afigya Kwabre District of the Ashanti region embarked on a sit-down strike to demand the removal of the headmaster of the school for consistently showing what they said was gross disrespect to staff.

The teachers came in their numbers to school, but laid down their tools without attending to classes on Tuesday, January 23.

They wore red bands on their heads and hands and gathered at one location to protest and demand the removal of Mr Francis Yaw Agorsor whom they said has bad human relations.

The headmaster, according to the staff, has been consistently assaulting them verbally without any provocation and does not respect their views and suggestions.

“If you want to tell the headmaster what is on your mind in a meeting, he will shut you down,” the Secretary for the teaching staff at Aduman SHS, Mr Akwasi Owusu told Adehye FM’s Elisha Adarkwah.

He said numerous petitions have been written to the necessary authorities over the behaviour of the headmaster but to no avail.

“It is our wish that the headmaster is removed from the school, so that everything will go on well for the school,” he demanded.

The Matron of the school who doubles as the leader of the non-teaching staff, Nana Asantewah also lamented on the disrespectful nature of the headmaster.

Some of the students were loitering during classes hours as a result of the absence of the teachers in the classrooms when reporters visited the school.
