Supporters of NPP’s Parliamentary Aspirant for Nhyiaeso; Stephen Amoah, have vowed to resist any attempt by party leadership to coerce him to step down.
They say some forces within the party have set up a delegation that is impressing on the MASLOC boss to step aside for the incumbent MP. They say however that they will not sit aloof and watch their efforts expended in pushing him thus far go to waste.
Speaking on the issue Monday May 18, 2020 one of Stephen Amoah’s strong supporters; Kwabena Owusu (also known as wanege); a delegate revealed that their candidate is being pressured to drop out of the primaries.
He recounted what Stephen Amoah told them that F. F. Anto called him to say; that Nana Addo wants him to step down since Hon. Hackman Agyeman and a delegation had besieged him to ensure that the incumbent; Kennedy Kankam gets another term. He said they had done a survey in the constituency which revealed that the incumbent would lose the primaries to Stephen Amoah; hence the attempts to get him to step out of the primaries.
Stephen Amoah’s supporters however say they will never allow that to happen. Some of them say they lost their Assembly elections and other political perks because of their support for his cause and will not allow anyone to force or convince their candidate to sit the primaries out.
Reliable information available to otecfmghana.com is that similar delegations are being sent to impress upon aspirants who pose a serious threat to some incumbents. The next stop according to our source are the Asokwa, Bekwai and Kwabre East constituencies.
