Ex- Kotoko defender Empem Dacosta joins Ashantigold SC

A former Kumasi Ksante Kotoko defender has penned down a three-year contract with the Aboakese [elephants] lads.

With huge experience from captaining and leading Karela FC from the Division one league to the Ghana premier league in 2017-18 season, he started catching the eyes of the top teams in the league.

Dacosta joined Kumasi Asante Kotoko after leading karela FC to the finals of the NC special tier one competition in 2019 which they eventually bowed to the Porcupine Worriers.

Fans of Asante Kotoko who saw his solid performance on the afternoon demanded and piled pressure on the then Dr. Kwame Kyei’s lead administration to secure his services.

Dacosta straight away from joining Kotoko impressed his the technical team and started playing so well due to his versatile nature of playing everywhere at the back.

Dacosta’s beautiful marriage with Kotoko was truncated after coach Maxwell konadu declared him surplus to requirement.

A decision some Kotoko fans can’t still comprehend.

Obuasi AshantGold in their rebuilding process and strengthening their team for this year’s CAF confederation cup has given Dacosta a lifeline in his career.

He joins the likes of Hans coffie, Nathaniel Asamoah, Yaw Annor etc….

Dacosta who featured for Kotoko in last season’s CAF champions league is expected to join his new teammates in camp this week as they are already in camp preparing for the upcoming season.
