Hearts of Oak’s opponent for CAF Champions League revealed

Confederations of African Football (CAF) has held the draw for next season’s Champions League. The match anticipated draw saw the Ghanaian double winners face Guinean side CLUB INDUSTRIEL DE KAMSAR.

The Guineans will host the Phobians on the weekend of 10-12 September 2021 at the Stade de l’Amitié, in Kamsar with the reverse fixture slated for the weekend of 17-19 September, 2021 in Accra.

The Phobians have long been missing at the continent’s flagship inter club competition and are expected to dispatch their opponents who were runners up in the last Guinea Ligue 1 campaign after placing below eventual champions Horoya AC.
To play in the group phase of the competition, Hearts who last won the competition in 2000, must eliminate the Guineans and try to do same to their next opponents from Morocco, Wydad Athletic Club (WAC). The Moroccan giants are drawn by at the next stage awaiting the winner of the Kamsar/Hearts winner.
Hearts of Oak have not seen CAF Champions League group phase football since their embarrassing exit in 2006 and poised to replicate their masterclass in 2000 with their charismatic head coach, Samuel Boadu.
