Asafo Agyei, Abass Nurudeen smoke in peace pipe at NDC Nat’l delegates congress

Former Deputy Ashanti Regional NDC Communications Officer, Alex Kwaku Asafo Agyei and his former boss Abass Nurudeen have reunited at long last.

In a picture captured by Otec fm’s Evans Agyei Sikapa from the ongoing NDC national delegates congress at the Accra sports stadium, the duo who have for some years been at loggerheads were sighted smiling and shaking hands as other observers looked on.

Asafo Agyei who deputised Abass Nurudeen from 2018 to 2022 contested his boss during the party’s recent Regional elections but could not win as Abass was able to retain his seat.

It is unclear what might have caused the loggerheads amongst the duo but it was an open fact that they were not in good terms.

NDC congress

The largest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will elect its new executives today.

Delegates will converge today, Saturday, December 17, at the Accra sports Stadium for the exercise.

Some 9,200 delegates are expected to be from the 276 constituencies that will partake in the elections.

Ofosu Ampofo’s role as the NDC’s National Chairman is threatened by the decision of the party’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia to unseat him.

Political analysts have described it as the main contest in the party’s upcoming National Delegates Congress.
