Sam Pyne aspires to take over majority leader’s seat at Suame

Sam Pyne, Suame NPP MP aspirant.

Samuel Pyne, current Metro Chief Executive for Kumasi, has noted his aspiration to become Member of Parliament for the people of Suame in the Ashanti Region.

Speaking to this reporter Saturday morning,  Mr Pyne said he had been a voter at the New Patriotic Party (NPP)stronghold since 1992.

He revelead working for previous NPP candidates who stood as parliamentary aspirants from 92 through to the reign of the Majority leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu who has served for over two decades as MP.

“I have served as polling station executive,  Assembly man for my area as well as General Secretary of the regional party and having followed the steps of my teacher and leader Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu I know have studied from the right place to do a good job when I am voted for as NPP MP aspirant”, Mr Pyne stated.

DYNAMICS:

Mr Pyne said the dynamics of the elections in the area was not something that would be a barrier to his aspirations since he is a known person in the Suame community.

He noted that having supported the current Majority leader to succeed as MP and the others before him makes him a good student to take over from the best.

My Pyne said he was fully aware of others who would want to contest the seat in the area but noted that he would win in a convincing manner because he stands taller than the names being bandied around.

“My confidence in winning as candidate of the NPP stems from the fact that I have dutifully served and with NPP being a party that rewards I am sure of the support I need to be elected as MP aspirant ahead of the 2024 General elections “, Mr Pyne stressed.

CHECKS:

Independent enquiries and checks by this reporter proved that at least two other persons would be seeking to contest for the position as NPP MP candidate for Suame.

Current Municipal Chief Executive for Suame, Maxwell Ofosu Boakye is lacing his boots to seek the support of delegates to contest to replace his boss, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu whom he served as special assistant.

Lawyer John Darko, a private legal practitioner and lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) is also in the reckoning having earlier contested in the NP primaries and lost.

This reporter can conveniently conclude that the contest would be a fierce one which may need much attention to it.
