Gyan back in Stars camp after MRI scan

Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has returned to the team’s camp after travelling to the Gabonese capital, Libreville, for an MRI scan.
Gyan had suffered an injury in Ghana’s 1-0 loss to Egypt, forcing him to be pulled off in the first half.
He was replaced by Jordan Ayew in that final Group D game.
A day after the game on Wednesday, January 25, Gyan was accompanied by team doctor Adam Baba to Libreville for the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan.
“Tests in the Gabonese capital of Libreville have shown that the injury is not as bad as initially feared,” said a statement on the website of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Gyan only suffered a left thigh muscle contusion, according to the statement. He is expected to undergo treatment to make him fit for Sunday’s quarter-final game against DR Congo.
