Dr Bawumia and Mahama

During the 8th Ghana CEO Summit, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia criticized the erstwhile administration led by John Dramani Mahama, contrasting the current administration’s achievements with that of Mahama.

Speaking via Zoom from Canada, Dr. Bawumia highlighted what he referred to as the tangible and verifiable nature of the Akufo-Addo administration’s developmental projects, criticizing Mahama’s initiatives as “guinea fowl” projects.

He emphasized that projects under President Akufo-Addo are concrete and beneficial to communities across Ghana.

Bawumia cited strides in healthcare, education and infrastructure, asserting that these initiatives have a lasting impact on the country’s progress.

He detailed various achievements, including the completion of over 200 projects in Zongo communities and investment in Technical and Vocational Education (TVET) amounting to over six billion Ghana Cedis in the past seven years.

Bawumia who doubles as the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) also spoke of over 304 projects by the Northern Development Authority.

“There were no vehicles for some of the projects we have done. We have done over 200 projects in the area of Zongo development across all the Zongos in the country.

“You look at our investment in technical and vocational education, over six billion Ghana Cedis in the last 7 years.

“The highest investment in TVET by any government in the Fourth Republic, and we’ve made Technical and Vocational Education also free in that context. You see, in terms of our development authority, there are 1,609 projects completed.

“And under the Northern Development Authority it has also completed over 304 projects so far and so we are not talking about guinea fowl projects but real projects,” he said.
