DR. MATTHEW Opoku Prempeh has officially welcomed 95 aggrieved members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) into the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The defectors said the good works of President Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration, which has positively impacted the lives of Ghanaians, motivated them to join the NPP.
They also said the NPP Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for Ahafo Ano South East, Frederick Acheampong, who is a development-oriented person, also influenced them.
“This NPP government has done a yeoman’s job to bring prosperity into the country and that is the main reason why we are crossing carpet to the NPP”, Mohammed Alhasan said.
Alhasaan, who is the leader of the defectors, said the NPPs free Senior High School (SHS) social intervention policy has benefited every Ghanaian, including even NDC members.
He said they have faithfully served the NDC all their lives but they didn’t get any benefit from it, saying that the NPP government has the transformation of the country at heart.
“This NPP government thinks about Ghana’s development first and that is why the country experiences massive growth whenever they are in political office”, he pointed out.
According to him, the 95 NDC members would work assiduously to woo more NDC members in the constituency to also cross carpet into the NPP before December 7.
“We are targeting to lure at least 200 more NDC members into the NPP to enhance Dr. Bawumia’s chances of winning the election”, Alhassan disclosed with a smile on his face.
Dr. Prempeh aka ‘Napo’ welcomed the NDC members with open arms and charged them to embrace hard work by campaigning hard to increase the NPPs votes in their area.
