Most Impactful Social Interventions Came Through NPP – Chieftaincy Minister Asserts.

Hon Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs

Hon Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs has asked Ghanaians to vote massively for the NPP flag-bearer and parliamentary candidates on December 7.

“It is only the NPP that consciously designs policies and programs that contributes to the social upliftment of Ghanaians so it is important that we keep them in power”, the Minister stated.

The Minister who spoke to this reporter on phone argued that the NPP has since the year 2000 implemented impactful social intervention policies.

These policies, he noted had led to the development and welfare of the Ghanaian people.

“It is clear that the NPP is the only political that has the best interests of Ghanaians in mind and this is why the party is the one that introduces the most impactful social intervention policies”, the Minister stated.

Policies:

The Minister recalled the implementation of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) by the John Agyekum Kufuor government between 2001 to 2008.

This health policy, the Minister argued came to set Ghanaians free from the cash and carry system that existed in health facilities.

The cash and carry system, Minister noted forced citizens to pay for every care or treatment they received at the hospital upon their visits.

Another policy the Minister mentioned was the free maternal delivery program by the Kufuor government.

This maternal policy, Hon Boateng explained ensured pregnant women gave birth at hospitals at no costs because government policy bore same costs.

Appeal:

Meanwhile, Hon Boateng has appealed to Ghanaians to rather than any political party endorse the NPP in the December 7 polls.

By voting for the NPP, the Minister noted that Ghanaians would be helping to protect the implementation of these social intervention policies.

The Minister who has been in the Central Region to canvass for votes for the NPP flag-bearer and parliamentary candidates said he was determined to ensure the NPP stays in power to continue to serve the interests of Ghanaians.

“I have been in the Central Region preaching the good news of the NPP to my people and i intend to also visit other constituencies in Greater Accra and Ashanti to campaign so that together with Ghanaians we can protect these social intervention policies including the free SHS which has benefited children born during the implementation of the NHIS and the free maternal policy introduced by President Kufuor between the year 2000 and 2008”, the Minister stated.
