Francis Adomako, candidate for Ashanti Regional Secretary position
The outgoing Ashanti Regional Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Francis Adomako, has officially secured the top slot on the ballot paper as he vies for the position of Ashanti Regional Secretary in the party’s upcoming August executive elections.
Mr. Adomako successfully picked the Number 1 position on Tuesday following a rigorous vetting process held at the Hasta Lodge in Kumasi.
Addressing journalists shortly after his vetting, an optimistic Adomako interpreted his position on the ballot as a divine omen.
He expressed confidence that his top-spot placement foreshadows victory in the upcoming contest.
“Picking the number one slot is a clear sign of God’s endorsement, and I am hopeful that the final election results will reflect this same outcome,” he stated.
Campaign Strategy:
The regional secretary role is a pivotal administrative engine within the NPP, responsible for strategy execution, grassroots coordination, and party communication.
Recognizing the weight of the office, Mr. Adomako emphasized that the position requires experienced and serious leadership.
To win over delegates, Adomako pledged to execute a clean, issue-based campaign ahead of the August polls.
Central to his platform is a comprehensive strategy to mobilize grassroots support and restore the party’s overwhelming dominance in its electoral stronghold.
Key Campaign Pillars:
Collaborating closely with all auxiliary wings of the party, particularly the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON), to drive student and youth outreach.
Unified Mobilization:
Reaching every corner of the region with the NPP’s core message to ensure the party remains the primary political choice in Ashanti.
Open Governance:
Inviting delegates and stakeholders to collaboratively brainstorm strategy to make the NPP highly attractive both regionally and nationally.
Adomako reiterated that his ultimate ambition is to build an unbeatable organizational structure to secure victory for the NPP’s presidential candidate in the 2028 General Elections.
Legal Issue:
The atmosphere turned emotional when the conversation shifted to the recent legal setback involving the party’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako (popularly known as Chairman Wontumi), following his court appearance and subsequent imprisonment.
Visibly moved and fighting back tears, Mr. Adomako expressed deep sadness over the court’s verdict.
However, he reassured party faithfuls of his unwavering faith in the party’s legal counsel.
He expressed optimism that the legal team would act swiftly to initiate the necessary processes to overturn the decision on appeal.
Closing his address, Adomako urged all delegates and party supporters to remain united, safeguard the party’s image, and work tirelessly toward a common goal.
