Ashanti NPP needs a committed leader like COKA — Adomako-Mensah

The Member of Parliament for Afigya Kwabre North, Collins Adomako-Mensah, has thrown his support behind Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, in the race for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Ashanti Regional Chairmanship.

Speaking during COKA’s “Hope Tour” engagement with party delegates, on Saturday (1 August), Adomako-Mensah described the former NPP constituency chairman as a committed party member whose leadership qualities make him the preferred choice for the position.

“At this particular point in time, our best bet is COKA. In politics, if you get a committed person like him, we must count our blessings,” he said.

The lawmaker praised COKA’s dedication to the party, describing him as a wise leader who has demonstrated loyalty and commitment over the years.

He urged NPP delegates in the Ashanti Region to support COKA’s bid as the party prepares for its regional executive elections.

“He has shown love for the party; he is a wise man. There is a spirit in leadership. The spirit now is in COKA, whether you like it or not,” he added.

Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, a former NPP Afigya Kwabre South Constituency Chairman, is among the candidates seeking to lead the party in the Ashanti Region.

The NPP Ashanti Regional elections are expected to determine the party’s next regional leadership team as it seeks to reorganise its structures ahead of future political contests.

The contest will be held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on 15 August.
