Ibrahim Bukari Baba has been elected the Bono East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), securing 180 votes in the party’s regional executive elections.
His main contender, Thomas Adu Appiah, polled 73 votes, while one ballot was rejected.
In the First Vice Chairman contest, Alexander Gyan emerged victorious with 149 votes. Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed followed with 92 votes, while Peter Koranteng secured 10 votes. One ballot was rejected.
The Second Vice Chairman position went to Amofa Atta Kofi, who polled 132 votes to defeat Baba Abdallah Baba, who obtained 122 votes.
David Boakye was elected Regional Secretary with 181 votes, defeating Peter Mensah, who polled 70 votes. Two ballots were rejected.
Mahama Seidu Liman won the Assistant Secretary position with 178 votes, beating Boateng Ebenezer, who secured 76 votes.
Musah Sulemana was elected Regional Organiser, while the Youth Organiser position was won by Charles Addo with 126 votes, narrowly defeating Mohammed Bello, who polled 128 votes.
Sophia Afriyie Danso secured the Women’s Organiser position with 161 votes, defeating Akosua Kuffour, who obtained 91 votes.
For the Nasara Coordinator position, Alhaji Jibrill Abubakar won with 178 votes against Alhaji Adamu Mohammed’s 75 votes.
The Treasurer position was won by Charity Saab Adjei, who polled 102 votes. Tadi Banyo Charles secured 67 votes, Gloria Awua Mullen 51 votes, and Boahemaa Martha 32 votes.
The Communication Officer race was closely contested, with Owusu Agyei Ebenezer emerging victorious with 117 votes. Kofi Ohene Sakyi polled 114 votes, while Ansu Seidu obtained 23 votes.
The newly elected executives are expected to lead the NPP’s activities in the Bono East Region and strengthen the party’s grassroots structures ahead of the 2028 general elections.
