In a major step to strengthen party infrastructure ahead of the 2028 general elections, the Ashanti Regional branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially inaugurated six specialized working committees.
The committees, comprising prominent figures from academia, law, business, health, and public administration, were sworn in on Wednesday by the Regional Chairman, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (popularly known as “Asanteman COKA”).
The newly formed bodies are tasked with working alongside the elected regional executive leadership to enhance operational efficiency, promote internal discipline, and mobilize grassroots support across the party’s strongest political stronghold.
Committees and Leadership
The six committees bring together key party stalwarts, former executives, lawmakers, and technical experts to oversee strategic areas of party management:
1.Disciplinary Committee
Mandated to uphold party ethics, resolve internal conflicts, and maintain decorum across all levels within the region.

Secretary: Dr. Anthony Nsiah-Asare
Members: Hon. Patricia Appiagyei (MP, Asokwa), Madam Mary Duodu, Dr. George Ayisi-Boateng.
- Elections Committee
Responsible for election strategy, polling station organization, voter intelligence, and electoral oversight.
Chairman: Frederick Fredua Anto (Former 3-term Regional Chairman)
Vice Chairman: Yaw Amankwa (Former Regional Chairman)

- Finance Committee
Tasked with resource mobilization, budget allocation, and financial oversight for regional operations.

Designed to bridge the gap between the party and professional associations, intellectual groups, and sector leaders.

- Research Committee
Focused on data gathering, policy analysis, voter trends, and evidence-based campaign strategies.

- Youth and Campus Committee
Tasked with mobilizing young voters, expanding tertiary campus networks (TESCON), and driving youth engagement.

Charge;
Delivering his inaugural address, Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah urged committee members to adhere strictly to their oaths of office and secrecy, emphasizing that institutional alignment and unity are vital to delivering results.
“I urge you to respect your oath of office and maintain confidentiality by working seamlessly together. Our goal is to provide quality leadership so that the Ashanti Region can lead the charge in securing political power in the next general elections. I have absolute confidence in the expertise represented in these committees, and together with the regional executive body, we will deliver exceptional service to the NPP and the people of Ashanti”, Chairman Odeneho stated.
Chairman Odeneho further appealed for mutual respect, discipline, and close collaboration between the committee heads and designated coordinators to guarantee smooth operations in a harmonious environment.
Commitment to Deliver
Speaking on behalf of all six newly inaugurated committees, the Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, Hon. Joseph Osei-Owusu, expressed gratitude to the regional executive leadership for the trust placed in them.
He assured the party hierarchy that all appointees would dedicate their professional expertise and energy toward achieving the party’s mandate. He called for maximum cooperation among members to ensure smooth implementation across all initiatives.
“I stand here on behalf of all six committees to pledge our total commitment,” Hon. Osei-Owusu stated.
He added that ,”we will work conscientiously and strategically to elevate the Ashanti NPP and ensure a decisive political victory for our party.”
