Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has warned that the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) could resort to misinformation and disinformation as part of its strategy to retain power in the 2028 elections.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, Afenyo-Markin said Ghanaians should expect what he described as “fake news and manufactured distractions” aimed at diverting public attention from what he called the government’s failures.
He urged Ghanaians to remain vigilant, question political claims and verify information before accepting or sharing it.
The Minority Leader also called on NPP members, officers, and communicators to fact-check claims and respond quickly to what he described as false propaganda.
“Check the facts, expose the lies quickly and never allow false propaganda to dictate our agenda,” he said.
He urged the NPP to keep public attention focused on what he described as the government’s broken promises and the everyday challenges facing Ghanaians.
“Above all, stay on message by promoting Dr Bawumia’s vision for Ghana with clarity and conviction while working relentlessly towards victory in 2028,” he said.
