The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has outlined the programme and voter identification requirements for its upcoming national conference scheduled for Saturday, October 3.
In a September 30 notice issued by the National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC), the party said the conference will be conducted in two main stages, beginning with consideration of proposed constitutional amendments before the election of national officers.
The constitutional amendments are scheduled to commence at exactly 9:00 a.m., while the election of national officers is expected to begin at 12:00 p.m.
The party urged all constituency, regional and national officers, as well as delegates, to adhere to the programme and arrive early to facilitate an orderly process.
The positions include the National Youth Organiser, National Nasara Organiser, National Treasurer and National Communications Director, alongside the other national executive positions to be contested.
The Electoral Commission (EC) will supervise the elections and conduct verification of every delegate before they are allowed to vote.
The party has therefore stressed that every delegate must have their name on the official delegates’ register and present one valid identification document for verification.
The statement said accepted identification documents shall include the Ghana Card, Voter ID card and NPP party card.
Delegates have been advised to bring at least one of the accepted identification documents to the conference to avoid delays during the verification process.
The party also urged delegates to allow sufficient time for the verification exercise before voting begins.
