Hundreds of NPP Delegates troop to Baba Yara Sports Stadium for crucial L National Delegates Conference

The Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Ashanti Region is currently a sea of red, white and blue as hundreds of New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates have trooped in from across the 16 regions of Ghana for the Party’s much-anticipated National Delegates Conference.

The atmosphere here is charged with excitement, party spirit, and intense lobbying as delegates converge to elect new National Executives who will lead the party for the next four years.

As early as 6:00 am this morning, buses loaded with delegates, regional and constituency executives, and party faithful began arriving at the stadium, chanting party slogans and displaying placards of their preferred candidates.

Security is tight, with personnel from the Ghana Police Service and private security ensuring order and a smooth accreditation process.

Officials of the Electoral Commission of Ghana are also on the ground to oversee what is expected to be a free, fair, and transparent election.

Key positions to be contested include:

– National Chairman
– General Secretary
– National Organizer
– National Women’s Organizer
– National Youth Organizer
– National Treasurer and Nasara Coordinator

Party stalwarts, former appointees, Members of Parliament, and founding members of the NPP have also been spotted entering the stadium to observe the process.

In an interview with OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng, some delegates, expressed optimism that the outcome of today’s election will re-energize the party’s grassroots base and strengthen its organizational structure ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Voting is expected to commence shortly after the opening formalities and speeches from the party’s leadership.
