Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, says the cost of living for Ghanaians has increased massively despite the NDC government’s claims of a decline in inflation.
Speaking at the NPP National Delegates Conference at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Dr. Bawumia said the official inflation figures do not reflect the reality on the ground.
According to him, rent, electricity bills and transport fares have all increased astronomically, putting unbearable pressure on households across the country.
He noted that these increases have significantly decreased the quality of life for ordinary Ghanaians who are struggling to make ends meet.
Dr. Bawumia said the NDC government must move beyond figures and address the real hardship facing Ghanaians.
He assured that the NPP is listening to the concerns of the people and will offer practical solutions to reduce the cost of living when given the mandate.
