Stanbic Bank Ghana has pledged its continued commitment to supporting young women pursuing STEM-related courses at the SHS and tertiary levels at the opening of the 2026 edition of the WiSTEM Bootcamp, hosting 320 female students.
The financial institution is once again at the forefront of championing innovation and inclusion as it powers the 2026 Women in STEM (WiSTEM) Bootcamp at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
The camp, which seeks to bridge the gender gap in STEM courses and careers in the country, is on the theme, “Give to Gain: Spark Her STEM Power”.

The event commenced on Monday, October 5, 2026, and is expected to end on Friday.
Participants will engage in immersive learning, mentorship, and hands-on innovation.
Activities include coding workshops, real-world problem-solving challenges, and interactive sessions with industry experts, equipping participants with the skills and confidence to lead in STEM fields.
Speaking to OTEC News on the sidelines of the event, the Head of Production Assurance and Customer Care at Stanbic Bank, Madam Aya Ayettey, said the bank believes in encouraging young girls to pursue STEM-related courses and careers.
“What we do is that the bank provides staff to team up with WiSTEM to mentor and train selected female students in the field of STEM,” she said.
“The staff have been devoted to be with the students in all the five days to also ensure they exhibit their knowledge in robotics, Artificial Intelligence, and coding.”
The Lead for Media Publicity for the 2026 WiSTEM Girls Camp, Dr. Mrs. Abigail Kisi Amponsah, said the five-day residential bootcamp is a dynamic platform designed to unlock the brilliance and boundless potential of Ghana’s future female innovators.
She noted that WiSTEM is a dedicated platform for mentoring young females ready to take up challenges in STEM-related courses.
She commended Stanbic Bank for its continuous support for the programme over the years.
