
Residents in some parts of Assin Bereku and its environs in the Assin North Constituency of the central region have trooped to polling stations in the area in quest to cast their vote in the by-election this morning.

People of Assin North today 27th June goes to poll to elect a new Member of Parliament after their former MP James Gyekye Quayson was stripped off his position by the Supreme Court.

Even before the commencement of today’s elections, many residents in the area had queued to vote.

Speaking in an interview with Otec fm’s Evans Agyei Sikapa, some residents said it found it necessary to cast their vote early in order to go about with their daily activities. Others also said they want to motivate others hence their decision to storm voting centres early.
